About Selfey

Self-care should start with what you actually need.

Selfey is a therapist-informed self-care platform for adults, teens and kids. Not another list of things you should be doing. A better way to notice what you need and find what might actually help.

Where Selfey starts

Self-care has become another thing we're supposed to get right. Sleep more. Move more. Journal. Meditate. Spend less time on our phones.

All useful things sometimes. But not necessarily what you need today.

Selfey starts somewhere different:

How are you really doing?

Because what restores one person may drain another — and what you need this week may be completely different from what you need next week.

Self-care isn't a checklist.

It's learning to notice what you need.

Meet the founder

I wanted self-care to feel more human.

I'm Sian Trombley, a certified therapist, Canadian Certified Counsellor and teacher — and the founder of Selfey.

For more than 25 years, I've worked with children, teens, adults and families across education, school counselling and psychotherapy.

Again and again, I've seen how easy it is to become disconnected from our own needs. We're often very good at noticing what needs to get done and who needs something from us. We're not always as good at asking:

What do I need right now?

That question became the beginning of Selfey.

I wanted to create something more thoughtful than generic self-care advice — a place where adults, teens and kids could notice how they're actually doing and find support that fits their real life.

Not another wellness checklist. Not more pressure to optimize yourself. Just thoughtful, therapist-informed and evidence-informed self-care that begins with the person.

“We spend so much time asking what needs to get done. Selfey begins with a different question: what do you need?”

NoticeStart with how you're actually doing.

  2. 02

  3. 03

ChooseFind support that fits this moment.

Self-care is bigger than bubble baths.

Selfey looks across six connected areas so self-care can reflect the whole person rather than one habit.

  • 01

    Mind

Stress, overwhelm, mental load, emotional awareness, coping, self-compassion, grounding.

  • 02

    Body

Movement, nourishment, hydration, energy, physical comfort, being outdoors.

  • 03

    Rest

Sleep, recovery, downtime, decompression, sensory breaks, digital rest.

  • 04

    Connection

Relationships, belonging, friendship, family, social support, asking for help.

  • 05

    Joy

Play, pleasure, creativity, nature, music, hobbies, curiosity, novelty.

  • 06

    Life

Routines, environment, demands, boundaries, autonomy, reducing friction.

Evidence matters. So does real life.

Selfey brings together psychological research, self-care science, professional experience and practical everyday application.

Research helps us understand patterns.

Professional experience helps translate them.

Real life tells us whether something is actually usable.

Start with where you are.

You don't need a better routine before you begin. You just need a moment to notice how you're actually doing.
